Do you know about Roundtable Meeting?  Roundtable Meeting is a monthly meeting just for Leaders!  It is your chance to come learn new and exciting ways to offer program to your Scouts, a place to learn about upcoming events, and a fun place to come meet other Scout Leaders in your area and trade ideas!

Skookum Roundtable Meetings:
Yakima:  Second Thursday of the month, 7:00pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. 48th Ave.

Ellensburg:  Fourth Thursday of the month, 7:00pm at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 401 S. Willow.

Leave No Trace

At our Skookum District spring Camporee, 60 scouts completed the first level of Leave No Trace certification, the LNT 101 Awareness Certification.  In addition, 10 more scouts from Troop 641, Chief Kamiakin District, Prosser, also completed this training/certification.  The Council Camping Ethics Advisor, George Ahrens, ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. )is available to work with individual units and District Event Chairs to spread this important information throughout the council.  The momentum is building...time to get on board and teach all scouts the best way to be good stewards of the outdoor environment, and Leave No Trace


What makes a trained leader? These on-line classes take you there: Youth Protection Training, This is Scouting, and your leader-specific (Cub Leader, Scout Leader) training gets you there. You also need Hazardous Weather training for outdoor activities. You can polish these skills with Leader Specific Training classes January 19 in Yakima. Watch for the flyer to pre-register for the classes.
